UPDATE: PHSSR Special Topic Solicitation
Potential for Co-Funding from Quantum Foundation

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, through its Changes in Health Care Financing and Organization (HCFO) Initiative, is currently seeking research proposals on Public Health Systems and Services Research (PHSSR). Research proposals on evidence-based decision-making and variations in the practice of public health are of particular interest, and preference will be given to projects that address under-examined topics and have the potential to be translated quickly by practitioners.

The Quantum Foundation, a private foundation whose mission is to advance health, education, and community betterment for the residents of Palm Beach County, FL, has offered matching funds, up to $200,000 per project, to supplement this initiative. Projects eligible for matching funds must propose research in Palm Beach County, such as

  • Testing the impact of an evidence-based decision-making strategy in Palm Beach County
  • Examining variation in practice using Palm Beach County as one of the sites.

Additionally, eligible projects must meet the criteria for the Special Topic Solicitation and HCFO's rigorous standards for quality research.

Application procedures for the PHSSR Special Topic Solicitation have not changed. Brief proposals are due May 21. Please visit http://www.hcfo.net/phsr/index.htm to view the solicitation and application instructions. Questions about the solicitation and/or this matching opportunity should be directed to Sharon B. Arnold, Director, HCFO Initiative, at 202-292-6700 or Sharon.Arnold@academyhealth.org.
